2025 GRANVILLE COUNTY CRIMESTOPPERS GOLF TOURNAMENT RESULTS

On May 9th, 2025, a report was filed with the Stovall Police Department in reference to a stolen “Jefferson Davis Bronze Placard”. The plaque was located at the intersection of US Highway 15 N and Cross Street in Stovall, NC. The plaque dates back to the 1930’s. Currently no additional information on the suspects or vehicle is available.
“The Jefferson Davis Highway marker, part of an initiative by the United Daughters of the Confederacy, was located in Stovall, NC. This marker was one of several placed along a proposed “Jefferson Davis Highway” route. While the state did not officially name a highway after Davis, the UDC placed markers along a route between Virginia and South Carolina. “
