June 14, 2022The Granville County Sheriff’s Office would like to announce the arrest of two suspects believed to have been involved in recent vehicle break-ins throughout Granville County. Douglas Montrel Smith, 24 of Oxford, was arrested 5/25/22 and Christopher Nicquan Harris, 24 of Oxford was arrested 6/2/22 and ordered held in the Granville County Detention Center awaiting further court appearances.
Smith’s charges include:
- Breaking and or Entering- 1 count
- Break and or Enter Motor Vehicle- 4 counts
- Larceny of Motor Vehicle- 1 count
- Larceny of Firearm- 6 counts
- Possession of Stolen Firearm- 6 counts
- Felony Larceny- 1 count
- Larceny of Chose in action- 1 count
- Misdemeanor Larceny- 1 count
- Misdemeanor Possession of Stolen Goods- 1 count
The total Bond for Douglas Montrel Smith is $340,000 secured.
More charges are being investigated and are likely to be added.
Harris’ charges include:
- Breaking and or Entering- 1 count
- Breaking and or Entering Motor Vehicle- 37 counts
- Larceny of a Firearm- 6 counts
- Larceny of Motor Vehicle- 1 count
- Felony Larceny- 1 count
- Possession of a Stolen Firearm- 6 counts
- Misdemeanor Larceny- 12 counts
- Misdemeanor Possession of Stolen Goods- 11 counts
- Larceny of Choice in action- 1 count
- Receiving stolen goods- 1 count
- Possession of Firearm by Felon- 3 counts
The total bond for Christopher Nicquan Harris is $650,000 secured.
